Hi Dave,

I think you need to do something like:

source ${LSSTDIR}/loadLSST.sh

which defines the "setup" command (it's some kind of eups alias, and 
does not require root).

(If you don't do that, then "setup" is some regular command on your 
system, by the sounds of it, an administrative one!)
